The party celebrates RACE founder Hui Cha Poos’ 54th birthday wish to raise money for the build-out of a new home for our community dance education program, RACE the Space. The new Northeast Oklahoma City space will accommodate RACE’s growth and change lives through opportunity and education. Poos founded RACE Dance Collective in 2009 with a vision to redefine who engages with dance and how, while focusing on accessibility and collaboration through a deliberate approach to artistic choices. Today, RACE connects more than 7,000 individuals annually, from performing artists, teaching artists, community partners, audiences, and studio participants. RACE develops dancers of all levels through its nearly 350 community classes each year and youth training programs.
